Rihanna goes vintage with Chanel

What we love about Rihanna’s fashion choices is that you never know what to expect. One day she’s sporting a mohawk, the next – a short bob. One day she’s wearing an outfit that would (almost) make Lady Gaga blush; the next – this look. It’s cute but very tame for the rude gal. anyway, it’s a nice toned-down casual look. She was spotted at her favorite New York restaurant, Da Silvano after performing her second concert for her Last Girl On Earth tour at Madison Square Garden. She wore a floral sundress and accessorized with peep-toe heels and a burgundy, quilted Chanel backpack. We’re loving the vintage look of the bag (although secretly we think backpacks should be reserved for school kids. And Kanye West.)

Gucci’s $3,350 Bookbag - the Large Darwin Leather Backpack
February 2, 2009 by Ehmonie Hainey · Leave a Comment
I am happy to say that I have not worn a bookbag since high school and probably would never wear one again. Even back in high school though, I wore the cool ones - like those clear vinyl bookbags from United Colors of Benetton, or a trendy messenger bag. As far as I’m concerned, bookbags past the age of 12 are a no-no. But Kanye West made bookbags popular for adults again when he came out with his first album, The College Dropout and started rocking a Louis Vuitton backpack. So I guess, at least in hip-hop culture, bookbags are now cool again. Anyway, Gucci decided to get on the bookbag bandwagon with its Large Darwin Leather Backpack
. This bag does double duty (and it should at $3,350!!!) as both a backpack and a hobo, thanks to the adjustable leather straps. It features three front zip pockets, contrast gold hardware, handstitched leather trim and a detachable ID tag with an embossed logo. Measures 21¾”W X 19″H X 4″D.
Given that the bookbag/backpack trend is making a (slight) comeback, would you rock this bag? Would you even pay this much for it?
