Over the years I’ve been noticing a return to simplicity in handbag design, with more of a focus on the use of color, and colorblocking, to make bags pop. A new handbag line that’s set to launch in Spring 2014 called BLACKSEA does just that. Described as “an experiment in geometry, texture and color,” BLACKSEA’s debut capsule collection features timeless staple pieces in classic colors, with geometric structured shapes and bold colors that give the bags an edge.
Named for and influenced by the childhood home of the creative director, the bags’ colors and silhouettes were inspired by nautical influences of the Black Sea and its rich shipping heritage, Odessan seafarers and sailors, and the golden sand beaches and various shades of the Black Sea.
The collection centers on three classic styles. The first is the Greenwich Clutch – a smaller bag with iPad compatibility and an interior zip pocket.
The second is the Broadway Brief – a slightly larger envelope clutch that can easily fit a 13 laptop computer.
The third is the Tribeca Pochette, a triangular-shaped statement piece that can be carried either as a clutch or purse.
Prices range from $329 – $699. For more information on the BLACKSEA collection, visit their website and check out more of the bags below.
Love these bags, what a great look.
Great. I loved it.
