Remember the movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” It was innovative at the time because it blurred the lines between real and cartoon characters. A new handbag line is kinda sorta doing the same thing. I recently spotted a girl walking down the street with a bag that looked like a cartoon cutout – but it was a real bag! I stopped her to get more information about the bag – and a closer look.
The line is called JumpFromPaper™ and the website describes it as “a playful and innovative line of bags” with “cartoon-like outlines and bright and cheerful colors”. Created by Taipei-based duo, Chay Su and Rika Lin, the collection came about when they were sketching one afternoon and thought “How amazing it would be if a two-dimensional hand-drawn illustration could come to life as a real bag?!”
Rapper Eve, who’s always on the forefront of fashion, posted a pic on Instagram posing with her hot pink “First Date” cartoon bag by JumpFromPaper. She was heading to the 10th Annual Stand Up For Skateparks Benefiting The Tony Hawk Foundation in Beverly Hills, California, dressed in a black dress, Monika Chiang Artemys Sneakers and the JumpFromPaper bag.
