Celebrity Handbag Spotting: Rihanna with MCM Bicolor Palmtree-Printed Coated Canvas Backpack

Rihanna kicked off New York Fashion Week in her own way – by skipping the shows and instead attending celebrity tattoo artist Keith (Bang Bang) McCurdy‘s Grand Opening Party. Later she went out to dinner at one of her fave restaurants, at Da Silvano, dressed in a tomboy casual look. Rihanna wore an American Apparel Cotton Spandex Jersey Tank Thong with Levi’s denim cut off shorts, a Nike Rally Camo Women’s Hoodie and Air Jordan Retro I OG Sneakers. She accessorized with a Komakino Teenage Fantasy Baseball Cap, Jennifer Meyer jewelry and an MCM Bicolor Palmtree-Printed Coated Canvas Backpack (also seen on her friend Cara Delevingne).

The blue and brown bag, part of a collaboration with pop art whiz-duo Craig & Karl, features a coated canvas body with a palm tree print design and topped with brown leather trim and exposed zippers. It also has a 3″ top handle, double adjustable shoulder straps, and a top zip closure. Normally backpacks make us think of high school but with celebrities like Kanye West and Rihanna sporting them, we’re starting to appreciate their place in the fashion world too.

Buy the MCM Bicolor Palmtree-Printed Coated Canvas Backpack for $970 at Saks Fifth Avenue.
