There are some luxury brands whose bags we have a love/hate relationship with, but Louis Vuitton never has been one of them. Their designs are typically classic and reliable. When they release new handbags, you can pretty much count on them to create some fabulous leather or exotic iteration of their iconic monogram. So when we saw this Louis Vuitton Pulsion Lockit in sheepskin with a matte calfskin lining, it was an immediate head-scratcher. And we had so many questions:
“Is this a joke?”
“Why is the bag covered in wool?”
“Where is the LV monogram?”
“Why does it look unfinished?”
“Is it inside out?”
“Does it really cost $3450?”
Don’t get us wrong – we’re not against sheepskin – in fact we love it – inside our winter boots, winter coats, even gloves, hats and earmuffs. But as the exterior of a ‘luxury’ bag? Heck no. Especially one that looks like a toilet cover refashioned into a designer bag, with a gold Louis Vuitton lock added for fun.
And we cringe to think how many some poor sheep were shorn for this hideousness.
What do you think of the Louis Vuitton sheepskin Pulsion Lockit? Is it haute or definitely not?
