Boho-chic bags: Ember Skye ‘Shelly’ in purple suede

Ember Skye Shelly Bag in purple suede
We hate to say it but Lindsay Lohan does not do justice to fashion brands. Case in point – at Kim Kardashian’s wedding, she rocked the same Temperley London dress that Pippa Middleton wore to big sister Kate‘s wedding reception. While Pippa looked stunning – Lindsay just looked sad. Same deal goes for her accessories. She recently was spotted in Soho carrying this purple fringe bag but the overall oddness of her look (lace dress, purple bag, leopard loafers) overshadowed it. Lindsay’s bad fashion choices aside, the Ember Skye Shelly Bag in Purple Suede is a pretty haute handbag. It’s got the whole boho-chic vibe going on, with the braided straps, suede body and fringe detail, and the purple hue is a refreshing change from the usual black and brown fringe bags. It’s roomy, measuring at 13 1/2″ x 16 1’2″ x 2″ and features a double magnetic snap closure at the top, with black ultra-suede lining inside. We suggest you wear it with a simple top and some classic flared jeans, to let the bag be the star of the show, like it was meant to be.

  3. Do not buy an ember skye bag. As cute as some of them are, this is not a company to support. I ordered their Cameron clutch last December – a Christmas present to myself after a difficult year. I loved it – for the ~5-8 times I used it. But then the leather started coming out of the frame. I contacted ember skye, and at first they were very responsive. They told me to ship back the bag and they would repair it, which I promptly did (received by them 3/17). It went down hill from there. After a few weeks they sent me an email asking me if I would like another bag instead – no explanation (4/6). After asking what happened and expressing that another bag wasn’t what I really wanted, they said they were going to try a different vendor. Then they emailed they were just not confident the bag would be fixed and it would not happen again (5/3), which I admired despite the long turnaround. However, now I’m not sure I believe anything they told me. They said they would issue a refund check. It never came. I followed up twice with no response, then was finally told a check was sent on 6/6. I got a check a few weeks later…made out to someone else. Again, I’m not sure I believe anymore that this was an accident. I was told a new check would be sent on 6/26, which never came. I emailed and called MANY times with no reply. So I finally sent an email on 8/13 stating that if this was not resolved in 2 weeks, I would relay my experience. I instantly got an email back, which should have just stated — “the check is in the mail” (it did state that, just not in these exact words). Perhaps needless to say, that check never came, nor did any explanation or indication that they wanted me to walk away satisfied. The part that is frustrating is that if money were an issue and they couldn’t come up with the refund, I would have worked with them. But instead they didn’t return calls, didn’t respond to emails, and blatantly misrepresented their actions (ie. lied). In the end I would have been better off paying someone locally to fix the bag, since now I don’t have the bag or the ~$300 I paid for it (does anyone know the process for online small claims?) So, do yourself a favor- find another super cute but over priced bag, no matter how many celebs are walking around with them. They probably got them for free, from the PR agency that I hear hasn’t been paid either.
