Kate Spade is known for its lively, colorful bags but the brand is taking a bit of a different direction this fall. WWD reports that President and creative director, Deborah Lloyd reached out to designers and stylists, Emily Current and Meritt Elliott, behind the denim brand Current/Elliott to design a capsule handbag collection. She said, “We loved the idea of partnering with Emily and Meritt. They have such a great spirit and epitomize the chic, West Coast vibe. This collaboration really was about our girl stepping out of her normal comfort zone and hitting the road.” The collection is called Westward by Emily and Meritt for Kate Spade New York and it launches in August, just in time for the Fall shows and season! We love the western vibe of this suede and ostrich satchel, which is just one of six bags in the collection. We can’t wait to see them all! Prices range from $245 to $1,295.
