When Chanel announced that its trademarked name could not be turned into an adjective, editors and bloggers quickly took notice. But what about designers? Sure, you could probably still design a tweed jacket that brought to mind that some other famous brands’, but could you design a bag with interlocking horseshoes that possibly resembles an iconic brand’s logo? It’s safe to say that this Lauren Moshi tote might be toeing the trademark infringement line. At first glance, I thought it was one of those ‘poke fun at a designer bag’ canvas tote bags that have become quite popular. While it’s called the Lauren Moshi Horseshoe Fringe Tote, those horseshoes remind me of something else. But I can’t say what.
