If you like your Coach bags covered in leather, rather than logos, then you’re in luck. According to WWD, Coach is reissuing five of its iconic leather handbags from the seventies, to be sold exclusively on Net-a-porter.com. Starting June 15, you can purchase one of the original Coach utilitarian designs (priced from $298 to $498) – you know, the bags made of thick natural gloved tanned cowhide leather that aged like a fine wine, accented only with chunky brass hardware, turnlock flap closures and leather top handles. These are the Coach bags we remember from our youth, and love. They fit perfectly with the seventies trend making a comeback this spring. We can see pairing one of these bags with flared jeans, chunky platform wedges or flatforms, and a breezy top. Luckily, we own one of the original Coach designs and it’s stored in our bag closet, so now might be the perfect time to pull it out, dust it off and wear it for the season!
President and executive creative director for Coach, Reed Krakoff, said:
“The Coach designs from this era were seminal in defining our approach to great American style. Heritage is our hallmark, so we’re pleased to reintroduce these iconic bags.”
