Aubrey O’Day turned a trip to the salon into her own personal photoshoot this weekend. Guess that’s what happens when you have no career to speak of, gotta take advantage of ‘fame’ any way you can get it. The former Danity Kane singer was spotted visiting Valerie Salon in Los Angeles, California and while she was smiling for the paps, her face looked waxier than Heidi Montag’s. But at least Aubrey’s zig zag print dress and Amarante Louis Vuitton Alma MM looked nice.

You know you’re growing up when you start carrying Balenciaga bags. Vanessa Hudgens seems to have traded in her JJ Winters fringe and zip hobos for a Balenciaga Giant City with gold hardware. She was spotted shopping this weekend at Diesel on Melrose in Los Angeles, California. She toted her purchases along with her haute handbag. The Balenciaga collection of bags are ‘new’ classics and absolute must-haves for chic celebrity chicks, like Vanessa herself!

So we’ll just focus on the one, non-kooky piece in her look - her Sonia Rykiel Studded Domino bag. It’s a great bag that would look better on the arms of a less crazy, more important celebrity. That is all.

Not sure how Fergie’s feeling about Josh (Duhamel) these days. Have you seen them lately? They might be standing next to one another but there’s clearly a lot of tension. Their ’stiff, can’t face one another’ body language speaks volumes. And although they may have been spotted ‘together’ on the red carpet at recent events, Fergie seems to be more in love with her other piece of arm candy – the Vita Fede Attura clutch. This gunmetal bag has been on her arm more than Josh lately. She was spotted carrying it both outside the Hotel Martinez in Cannes and on the red carpet at the NRJ Music Awards.
Vita Fede’s Attura clutch ($2,290) will be available mid February on VitaFede.com.

Well it looks like Beyonce isn’t the only luxury bag lover in the Carter household. She and her hubby Jay-Z, recently named ‘Hollywood’s richest couple‘, have been taking in all the Paris Menswear Fashion Week shows and Mr. Shawn Carter was spotted in Paris carrying an Ostrich Skin Backpack ($24,900) from Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection. He sported the bag with a plaid jacket with leather sleeves, Oliver Peoples ‘Daddy B’ sunglasses, jeans and Timberlands.
The grey bag features nothing more than luxe ostrich skin – no logos, no monogram canvas, and minimal hardware. The bag is the ultimate in luxury, and really looks more like Hermes or Bottega Veneta bags, in all its simplicity. Guess the couple that buys luxury bags together, stays together. And it seems like Beyonce’s high fashion influence is rubbing off on Jay.

Alexander Wang’s spring bags have just debuted on shopbop.com and we can’t wait to get our hands on the entire collection. But the true standout is the Alexander Wang Darla Pyramid Clutch. If you loved the Alexander Wang Coco Duffel
and adore clutches, this bag is the best of both worlds. Made of the same black pebbled leather found on most of Wang’s bags, this clutch is pyramid shaped with a vertical zip closure and seam on the front and oversized black bullet head studs on the back. $495 may be a lot to shell out for a clutch but with Wang’s sturdy leather and stud detail, and timeless design, this bag will be one you’ll want to clutch forever. (Measures 9.5″ x 10.5″).
Now if the clutch isn’t for you, for just 200 more you can snag the Rocco Baby Duffel Bag. Like the Coco, the Rocco is duffel-shaped and also features black pebbled leather, double rolled handles and black oversized studs at the bottom. It’s obviously larger than the Pyramid Clutch, but slightly smaller than the Coco (at 11″ x 12″ x 9″ with a 3″ strap drop), which is perfect since the Coco is a pretty heavy bag. There’s also an additional version for $875 – the Rocco Mini Duffel – measuring 12″ x 13″ x 10″ with a 3″ strap drop, and features two zip pockets on the sides.

Beyonce’s latest bag may not be one you’ve heard of (yet), but as a trendsetter, she’s always on to what’s hot and what’s next. She was spotted in Nice, France toting her Red Ruffle Bag by November XVIII. Designed by Patricia Lukoszek, November XVIII (named for her birthday) bags are composed of slouchy, butter soft leathers and feature apparel draping techniques. They designer says she approaches the bags as if they are clothing, and stays away from flashy hardware. Which is perfect for Beyonce, who has more flash than she’ll ever need.

My colleague, Melissa, recently mentioned that she discovered her dream bag. Unfortunately, it was the Hermès Birkin Bag, and the price and waiting list was less of a dream; more of a nightmare. So she asked Handbag du Jour to find some Hermes-style handbags for her, in a more affordable price range. Spiky studded accessories must be what’s hot in the R&B streets right now. Yesterday we saw Beyonce out and about in Paris wearing spiky studded gloves paired with studded leggings. Next, Rihanna was spotted in Heathrow Airport in London, England on her way to perform ‘Haiti Mon Amour’ with Jay-Z and Bono at the ‘Hope For Haiti Now‘ telethon. Beyonce may have said ‘buh-bye’ to her alter ego, Sasha Fierce, but it doesn’t look like she bid adieu to Sasha’s ‘fierce’ fashion sense. Mrs. Carter and her hubby Jay-Z were spotted leaving L’Avenue restaurant in Paris before heading to see some shows at Paris Menswear Fashion Week this week. She rocked quite the edgy look of an acid-washed denim-look boucle cropped jacket, studded black leggings. She accessorized with matching 3.1 Phillip Lim studded black fingerless gloves, black Ray Ban sunglasses, a Balenciaga Arena Classic Day bag in Outremer (bright blue) and Louboutins on her feet, of course. Looks very ‘Sasha Fierce’ to us.

It looks like airports have more runways than one. There’s the one for planes, of course, and it seems, one for celebs. Whatever happened to the days of traveling comfortably? Kim Kardashian - who rarely steps out the door looking less than spectacular - was spotted going through LAX airport dressed a lot nicer than most of us do when we travel. Kim looked like she was ready to step off the plane and right into a shopping excursion with her mom and sisters. Leather biker jacket. Raj stud & chain scarf. Black Hermes Birkin bag. And two pillows? Well, a beauty’s gotta make sure she gets her beauty sleep.

Diane de Maria is quickly becoming the celebrity ‘It’ bag. First Sarah Jessica Parker carried a hot pink version of the Bonnie bag to The Late Show with David Letterman; now Taraji P. Henson was spotted strolling through Reagan National Airport in her hometown of Washington D.C. with the black version. The actress was makeup free heading off the plane but she didn’t sacrifice style. She wore a casual outfit with some cool accessories – grey harness booties, her Diane de Maria bag and oversized sunglasses. She was in town for the 2010 BET Honors.
