Bag Lady: Blazing Satchels

Lately, I have been working past Barney’s shopping hours. By the time I get home, I realize that I should have stayed at work longer. I need to start taking my work home with me, but that would require me to bring a bag that would fit everything: work stuff, my wallet, books, makeup bag, and miscellaneous things. I need a satchel. My dearest friends would say that I would make any excuse to buy a new purse…and they’re right!

It was a toss-up between the Burberry Convertible Leather Satchel and the Salvatore Ferragamo Leather Satchel. I had no time for indecisiveness. I had tight deadlines, meetings and my so-called social life to deal with. I made a hasty decision and purchased online. Four agonizing days later a priority package arrived at my desk. It felt like an eternity; I promised never to put myself through that again.

The following morning, my Burberry got stuffed to maximum capacity. When I arrived at work, I got the usual glares from my challenged co-workers on the elevator. It’s like they could sense a new purse on me…got to love that new bag smell!

It was a busy day for me, but I got a lot done and it was only 6:10 p.m. I printed out some potential prospects from Neiman’s and placed them in my folder. Thank God for my new satchel…now I can bring my “work” home with me!
