Haute or Not: No. 3 ‘The Bag’ in Cream by Slow & Steady Wins the Race

Haute or Not: No. 3 'The Bag' in Cream by Slow & Steady Wins the RaceWonder where can you get a Birkin for $100? How about a Balenciaga? The answer: from Slow and Steady Wins the Race. Ok, so you’ve probably guessed by now that we’re not talking real Birkins or Balenciagas. Mary Ping is the designer behind Slow and Steady Wins the Race, a clothing/accessories label, “presented as a bimonthly clothing diary, cataloguing ideas that are focused on a specific and fundamental characteristic of clothing design.” Their mission is to “push and produce interesting and significant pieces from the simplest fabrics and materials with the aim of yielding a limited number of pieces throughout the year.” The bags are all $100, all made of basic cotton canvas material and designed to look like your favorite designer bags. We spotted this Chanel lookalike No. 3 ‘The Bag’ in Cream at Revolve Clothing. It’s a cute little quilted bag but we’re not into fakes so we’ll pass. But do you like?

  1. Thomas Eure says:

There is no such thing as a knock off handbag. there are simply many different styles with there own personality. After all a bag is a bag with a handle and trim. The workmanship and the functionality of the bag are what is important to anyone with common sense. Of course there are “art” bags with a special treatment of the leather done by the artist. But most designers are just into something that is wild and has their logo. LV bags are a complete rip off and anyone who buys one is nuts. But you know what they say, “vanity is the tax on the rich by the poor”. Trend sucking dilatants are the engine of the fashion market. Keep on sucking !

  2. I just want to say all the fake bags are producted for the people who need them.
