Our latest ‘Fashion Inspiration Comes From Everywhere‘ find is this interestingly-shaped ‘Ophelia’ clutch by designer Jalan Sahba. The website desribes it as “an iconic silhouette that exudes a sense of restrained luxury.” Hmm…ok. I will restrain myself and refrain from commenting on what it reminded me of at first glance, because maybe I’ve got a different mind than you. But I think you’ll see what I see. Anyway, other than the ‘unique’ shape, it’s a pretty chic clutch. It’s made from some pretty exotic materials – hand-cut Italian calf that looks like python, a striking amethyst and rose quartz jewel detailed clasp, and an Italian satine cotton lining. The bag screams ‘rich’! It comes in Persian White as well as an Imperial Yellow color (that looks less like what I first thought the white purse looked like).

Oh, the perks of being with P. Diddy. You can make a career out of traveling to the finest destinations, dining in the finest restaurants and buying the finest stuff. Cassie may be quiet about her relationship with the music mogul but the perks (her trips, her clothes, her shoes, her bags) speak loud and clear. Lego bags apparently are the new ‘thing’ in fashion. During Paris Fashion Week last Fall, Chanel debuted its ‘Lego’ clutch on the runway. Then a few months ago we spotted this ‘Birkin bag’ completely made of Legos. Now Etsy seller agabag is selling a limited-run of ‘a tribute to Gucci clutch bags‘ made almost entirely of red, dark green and khaki colored LEGO bricks! (The inside is covered with dark grey satin and features a small business card size pocket.)

The bag measures 23 x 10.5 x 2 cm outside/22 x 9.5 x 1.6 cm inside and is actually fully functional. And, the seller guarantees it will NOT fall apart! Also, the clutch can be made to order in any color combo/pattern (stripes, checkers, etc.) you can think of! Each bag has a matching color satin lining and comes with a custom dust bag.

Givenchy’s Antigona bag is a haute, sleek, and stunning satchel seen on tons of celebs and pretty much has reached cult status. And, it’ll set you back anywhere between $1,500 for the small version to almost $3,000 for croc-emmbossed or quilted leather versions. Lovely bag but the price definitely does not fit all budgets. Luckily there’s an alternative bag that looks just as hot as the Antigona – but for a fraction of the price. It’s luxury you can afford! Of all the designer handbags I have seen while blogging over the past seven years, these have to be some of the most interesting. Alexander Wang debuted glow in the dark designer handbags for Spring 2013! Normally I’d think glow in the dark anything was just a fun trend to try for Halloween. But Alexander Wang has really taken it to a designer level. And the former scientist in me is equally excited as the handbag lover in me.

Alexander Wang’s new cowhide handbags feature rhodium, a rare element and a silvery-white, hard and durable metal that has a high reflectance. After leaving the bags under direct light for a recommended 1 hour, they begin to glow in the dark! So geeky, cool and chic!

So far, the Alexander Wang bags that have gotten the rhodium/glow in the dark treatment are the ‘GLOW IN THE DARK AGATA‘, the ‘GLOW IN THE DARK TRI-FOLD BAG‘, ‘GLOW IN THE DARK PRISMA TOTE‘, ‘GLOW IN THE DARK PELICAN SLING‘, the ‘GLOW IN THE DARK MARION WITH RHODIUM‘ and the ‘GLOW IN THE DARK PRISMA FLAT POUCH‘. I’d love to see a Rocco Duffel that glows in the dark.

It seems that all it takes to create the latest ‘It’ bag is to design it for an A-list celeb, promise to name it after said A-list celeb and get it on the arms of several other A-list celebs. Then voila – it’s an ‘It’ bag!

The Saint Laurent Duffle is the newest bag seen on the arms of celebs including Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce, Lily Allen and Kate Moss. The bag was the first one created by Hedi Slimane when he took the role as creative director at Saint Laurent (formerly Yves Saint Laurent) and originally was supposed to be named for Gwyneth. Though the name was changed to the Saint Laurent Duffle instead, she was the first celeb to debut the bag when she was spotted in the airport last summer with a grey version on her arm.

The bag is really simple and classic in design, so in my book it doesn’t qualify as an ‘It’ bag. But it’s still a nice, logo-less, bells-and-whistles-less bag if that’s what you’re looking for. Made of smooth, lustrous Calfskin leather, this structured satchel has a two-way top zip closure, double rolled handles and a removable, adjustable shoulder strap. There’s also an exterior slip pocket with magnetic closure, an interior zip pocket and protective metal feet on the bottom. Maybe I’ve watched one too many commercials for “The Last Exorcism” but when I saw this Givenchy Antigona Madonna-Print Large Shopper Bag in my inbox, I was not intrigued, but terrified! With a partly concealed, slightly haunting face on the front, at first glance I thought it looked a bit ghastly and creepy. I was relieved to learn the imagery wasn’t anything ghostly or ghoul-like; but just an abstract Madonna face. The printed face is atop a coated canvas body (measuring 12 & 1/2″ x 22″ x 7″) with vegetable-tanned leather details and silver hardware. It also features an open top, 7″ shoulder straps, a canvas lining and a matching removable zip pouch (measures 8 & 1/2″ x 6″).
Givenchy has been doing these face print handbags and fashions for several seasons now. While I thought the Givenchy Rottweiler and shark prints were kinda cute, this one is a no for me. Yes, it’s Madonna and not some evil spirit that needs to be exorcised but still, this is not a bag I’d want around my house. Honestly, the look of it kinda gives me the creeps – it’s like one of those paintings where the eyes seem to follow you around the room. Please and no thank you.

There’s a whole lot of ‘look’ going on in this photo. But we wouldn’t expect anything less from Cher, singing, acting and fashion legend, and pregnant Fergie, also a singing, acting and fashion icon. The pair were out together in Paris, arms linked and going shopping. Amidst all the leather and fur we spotted Fergie’s edgy clutch – the ‘Cabriolet’ glove clutch by Perrin Paris. Alexander McQueen made the glove handbag a thing a few years ago with its ‘Glove Clutch‘ and Perrin Paris’s structured glove clutch is giving McQueen’s bag a run for its money. Literally – the prices range from $995 for the deerskin version to $3,450 for the croc style.

The bag features a glove-inspired design, with a front moto style that let’s you easily slip your hand right in. It definitely makes for easy carrying when you’ve got other things on your arm, like shopping bags or those designer baby bags Fergie’s soon to be carrying…
